A big thank you to Corbett residents Jim Stein and Joel Harrington. They donated a full day of their time on Saturday to install the Corbett repeater in the gorge. Also, one of our county Radio Shop technicians, Marty, spent his entire Saturday on this installation, without pay, to get this project done!  Very dedicated!

This repeater will allow radio communications from parts of the metro area, Gresham, Troutdale, Wood Village, Corbett, Aims, the Bonneville Dam and Cascade Locks…all on a little handheld radio!

The repeater will be used by the Citizen Patrol volunteers and other Corbett community organizations that would likely assist the Sheriff’s Office and Corbett Fire during a large scale disaster incident (contact Dep. Graziano (503-251-2502/ joseph.graziano@mcso.us) if your group would be interested assisting with these communications).

Jim Stein used his lift bucket truck and braved cold winds with heavy wind gusts that blew he and his bucket about a foot in various directions while 40 feet in the air! He worked for pizza and donuts! Joel worked on the technical aspect of installing the repeater and other electronics.

Thank you Jim, Joel and Marty!
