Springdale’s first registered Little Free Library

-Donnie Endicott and Wally Hunt, Bright Star Farm

” I wanted to do something for our great neighborhood and my husband made the fatal mistake of announcing he needed a project. The result was the construction and installation of Springdale’s first registered Little Free Library.

littlefreelibrary

Location

We installed it in front of our house (30225 NE Hurt Rd, Springdale, OR) with the hope that folks in the area would discover a place to exchange books (take a book, leave a book) that wouldn’t require a trip to Troutdale or Fairview libraries when the need for a good story arose.

24-7

Another great feature is that, unlike the city libraries, the little free library is available 24/7 for those times when an emergency book is needed. The little free library has been registered on the national little free library site and will appear on their maps soon if it isn’t there yet!

Selection

Right now the library is stocked mostly with mystery novels from some great authors, with a few literary titles for spice. It’s a great way to explore some new authors, and a good way to share your favorite authors with others.

Dedication

I dedicated this little free library to five people who were great readers, some friends, some family, all loved and missed. Please come and check out the little free library, we built it with recycled materials and are hoping it will withstand the winds and rain this winter, so far all the books are cozy and dry and waiting to be read! ” -Donnie Endicott and Wally Hunt, Bright Star Farm
