ORGANIC GARDENING PROGRAM

Calling all who are interested in growing organic produce for yourself and your family. The Columbian Garden Club is soliciting community members of all ages who are interested in being involved in an organic gardening educational program. Depending on your interest, we could get started before Spring and have a bounty of healthful produce before Summer’s end. Please contact Elaine at 503-695-5774 or Karen at 503-695-5652.

 

 

GARDEN CLUB PURPOSE

To promote interest and activity in the beautification of homes, yards, and communities.

CLUB PROJECTS

• Landscaping of the Corbett School District.
• Providing scholarships to Corbett High School students.
• Landscaping of the historic Springdale School.
• Maintaining the Blue Star Memorial at the Troutdale Railroad Depot Museum.
• Monetary donations to a variety of organizations including The Oregon Garden, the Vista House, and the Corbett Fire Department.
• Forcing Bulbs in Winter

MEETING TIME & PLACE

Time: 10 a.m. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month (between Sep and June)
Place: Corbett Fire Hall meeting room, Historic Columbia River Highway, Corbett, Oregon.

GARDEN CLUB ACTIVITIES

• Monthly luncheon meetings.
• Annual Plant Sale in May at the Corbett Fire Hall at 36930 E. Historic Columbia River Hwy
• Holiday Greens sale.
• Garden-related crafts.
• Garden tours.
• Special educational programs.
• Opportunities to enroll in garden club schools, and attend District meetings and State Flower Shows.


AFFILIATIONS

The Columbian Garden Club is in Multnomah District 14 of the Oregon State Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. and is a member of the Pacific Regional District of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc.
